Grounded Days makes calm, practical tools for families. We collect as little as we can, we never sell your information, and the kids' app keeps children's activity on your own device. This page explains the details in plain English.
Who we are
This website (www.grounded-days.com) is run by Carly Hancock (ABN 39 945 668 218), trading as Grounded Days, a small family business in South Australia, Australia, led by Carly. In this policy, “we” and “us” means Grounded Days. You can reach us any time through our contact page.
What we collect
- Your account: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile picture from Google. We use these to sign you in and show you your downloads.
- Orders and membership: what you bought, when, and the price. Payments are handled by our payment provider (Stripe); we never see or store your full card number.
- Emails you ask for: if you sign up for the free printable or updates, your email address, so we can send them. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- Messages: anything you send us when you get in touch.
- Cookies and similar technologies: only with your permission, as explained below.
- Basic technical information: like your browser type and IP address, which our hosting provider records to keep the site secure and working.
Children and Grounded Days Kids
Grounded Days Kids (the online routines at /kids) is set up by a grown-up and used by children with a grown-up nearby. We designed it so that we don't collect personal information from children:
- Children's names, routines, paw prints, stickers and feelings check-ins are saved only on the device you use (in its browser storage). They are not sent to us.
- There are no ads, no advertising cookies and no analytics in the kids' app, ever.
- A grown-up PIN protects the settings. You can clear everything from the grown-up area at any time.
Our website and accounts are for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in some places). If you think a child has given us their information, please contact us and we'll delete it.
How we use your information
- To deliver your downloads, run your account and membership, and help when you need us.
- To send emails you've asked for (you can unsubscribe at any time).
- With your permission, to measure and improve our ads, as explained below.
- To keep the site secure, prevent fraud and meet our legal obligations (for example, tax records).
Who we share it with
We never sell your personal information. We share it only with services that help us run Grounded Days:
- Vercel (website hosting)
- Supabase (accounts and our product database, hosted in Singapore)
- Stripe (payments)
- Our email provider (sign-in links and emails you've asked for)
- Google (if you choose “Log in with Google”)
- Meta, Google and Microsoft (advertising measurement, only with your permission)
- Etsy, if you buy through our Etsy shop (Etsy's own privacy policy applies there)
Some of these companies store information outside Australia, including in the United States and Singapore. We choose reputable providers who protect information to a similar standard. We may also share information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account while you have one, and order records for as long as tax law requires (in Australia, usually five years). If you ask us to delete your account, we'll delete or anonymise your information unless we need to keep it by law.
Your choices and rights
- Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it.
- Ask us to delete your account and information.
- Unsubscribe from emails, and say no to advertising cookies.
- If you live in a US state with privacy laws (such as California), you can also ask us not to use your information for targeted advertising. Choosing “No thanks” on our cookie message does this, and you can contact us too. We don't sell personal information.
To do any of these, contact us through our contact page. We'll reply within 30 days. If you're not happy with how we handle a privacy concern, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Keeping it safe
We use secure, encrypted connections (https), limit who can access information, and keep downloads private so only the people who bought them can open them. No system is perfect, but we take care, and we'll let you know if something goes wrong that affects you.
Changes
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top. For big changes, we'll let account holders know by email.
